Where We Fish
Alpine Lakes & Streams
The Spanish Peaks Wilderness and Yellowstone National Park are accessible via horseback to some of the most unique trout fishing anywhere in the world. Cutthroat trout only exist in the greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and the rare Arctic grayling can also be found in certain areas. Our horseback fly fishing trips offer an excellent opportunity to explore pristine mountain lakes and streams, all the while enjoying spectacular alpine scenery. The majority of the fish in these areas have not been subject to regular angling pressure and are therefore very cooperative, even for first-time fishermen. If fishing is not your goal, guests are encouraged to soak in the beauty of the area while the rest of the group fishes. This is a great combination for anglers and non-anglers alike.
This Blue Ribbon stream is really our home water - Cache Creek Outfitters is located on it! We can hear the water, see the bugs and smell the fish. The Gallatin provides excellent fishing for wild trout, ranging from the young of the year to the true trophies.
Unbelievable beauty and world-class fishing . Trophy trout are abundant with unsurpassed fish counts river-wide. Full day wade trips and outstanding float fishing are the norm here. Consistent water flows, epic insect hatches and thousands of fish per mile make this river a slam dunk! Truly a fly fisherman's paradise.
This river flows from the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park and is quite possibly the most scenic and wild of all Montana rivers. The Yellowstone is the longest free-flowing river in the lower 48 states. This river provides excellent fish diversity, featuring rainbow, brown, cutthroat and cutthroat hybrid trout species, each with their own unique personalities. Grasshoppers, attractor patterns and streamers make for incredibly exciting fly fishing.
